What is a product pre-order form?

A product pre-order form collects purchase interest before an item is ready for normal checkout or immediate fulfillment. It helps a business understand which products, options, and quantities customers want while keeping each request organized for review.

Unlike a completed ecommerce order, a pre-order request may still depend on launch timing, inventory, production capacity, final pricing, shipping eligibility, or payment. This template makes that boundary visible so customers know what they have submitted and what still needs to happen.

What should a pre-order form include?

Collect only the information needed to assess and confirm the request. Product and variant choices should match the options you expect to offer, while quantity and fulfillment questions should help your team identify supply, delivery, or pickup requirements before contacting the customer.
